Research Associate, Laboratory and data manager

After completing her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at the Denis Diderot University in Paris, Alejandra decided to dive deeper into the field of immunology, and she obtained her master’s degree in this subject in 2011 from Paris-Est Créteil University. During the last six months of her master’s degree she had the opportunity to go back home to start her internship in the laboratory of Professor Susana Fiorentino in Colombia. She also completed her PhD in Biological Sciences here with a special interest in tumor immunology. During her Master’s and PhD theses she studied the mechanism of action and therapeutic potential of natural complex fractions in order to scientifically validate traditional knowledge and the use of herbal medicine by native communities. During her PhD thesis she once again had the opportunity to do a 1-year international internship that she completed in 2016 in the laboratory of Professor Pedro Romero at the University of Lausanne. She joined the Jandus Lab in 2016 where she worked on the role of Innate Lymphoid Cells (ILCs) in different preclinical cancer models. In 2026, Alejandra has joined the Labidi-Galy group acting as Research Associate and laboratory / data manager.

MD-PhD candidate

Marie-Estelle Gaignard is a scientific resident in medical oncology who is passionate about Mind&Body approaches to helping people affected by cancer. She is currently studying the effects of mindfulness meditation on inflammatory processes, cellular aging and cancer-related biomarkers.

PhD student

Camilla obtained her Master’s degree in Oncology from the University of Oxford, where she studied the link between autophagy and DNA damage repair. She joined the lab as PhD student at the end of 2023 for a project which aims to bridge the DNA damage repair field to immunology in the context drug resistance in ovarian cancer.

Bioinformatician

Jennifer obtained a Master’s degree in Bioengineering from EPFL in Lausanne in 2020. She then worked as a clinical data manager / analyst at the Center for Precision Oncology at CHUV. In 2025, she joined our lab as a bioinformatician to work in collaboration with the Pathology Department of HUG on developing the second-generation Geneva Homologous Recombination Deficiency (HRD) Test. This test aims to identify patients who are likely to benefit clinically from PARP inhibitor treatment for their high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC).
