Laboratory and data manager
Valentine obtained a bachelor in Biology at the University of Geneva. She then undertook a Master’s degree in Medical Biology at the University of Lausanne, specializing in Pharmacology & Toxicology. During the master project, Valentine worked at the Center for Psychiatric Neurosciences (CPN-CHUV), contributing to research studying the association of obesity and depression with the circadian rhythm in murine models. In 2022, Valentine joined the Labidi-Galy group acting as laboratory and data manager.
Post-doctoral scientist
Nawel is a biochemist, having undertaken her PhD with Dr. A. De Agostini (Department of Pathology and Immunology) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva. She investigated the role of aHSPG post biosynthetic modification and its implication on endometrial cancer invasion and angiogenesis (2015-2020). She is currently doing her postdoc working on targeting BRCA mutated ovarian cancer resistant to PARP inhibitors. Nawel has been important for the development of organoid cell lines.
MD-PhD candidate
Marie-Estelle Gaignard is a scientific resident in medical oncology who is passionate about Mind&Body approaches to helping people affected by cancer. She is currently studying the effects of mindfulness meditation on inflammatory processes, cellular aging and cancer-related biomarkers.
PhD student
Camilla obtained her Master’s degree in Oncology from the University of Oxford, where she studied the link between autophagy and DNA damage repair. She joined the lab as PhD student at the end of 2023 for a project which aims to bridge the DNA damage repair field to immunology in the context drug resistance in ovarian cancer.
Master student
Laura earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Geneva. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and conducting her Master’s Project in our lab. Her project consists of studying the tumor microenvironment of peritoneal carcinomatosis as part of translational research for the Nab-PIPAC clincial trial.
